Louisiana needs to accept what it is. It is about a laid back style of living that places having a good time over monetary wealth. The moneyed elites in LA haven't done anything to change the culture of LA. Huey Long's opposition came from the wealth and elite.

I don't think that the largest hurdle preventing a flourishing 21st century economy in Nola is NOLA.

Louisiana only proves that democracy works.

We elect corrupt politicians because too many people here are corrupt.

That's the way, uh huh, we like it, uh huh.

Hate to break this news to you but MS has moved past LA in most every measurable statistic.

I love LSU and I love my standard of living in Sugarland Texas. I wish that I could have the same in Louisiana with no state taxes and reasonable property taxes.

Growing up in Louisiana the corruption was laughable, but it is not funny any more.

Residents need to start electing the right candidates period.

Except that nothing in this country is actually a democracy.

Our higher educated crowd leaves for greener pastures. If our smartest could earn a good wage they would stay home. Most natives love Louisiana and wouldn’t leave if it wasn’t such a bureaucratic shithole.

JBE has to go. And all his RINO backers. I despise these idiots who had the ‘Republicans for Edwards’ signs. They need to GTFO of LA

You have to accept that there is no political solution to Louisiana's problems. Everyone pinning their hopes on some tort reform bill or something similar coming out of Baton Rouge is just engaging in magical thinking. Louisiana's problems are cultural and not political. There is essentially nothing anybody can do to fix this barring some kind of Carthaginian raze everything and salt the earth kind of scenario which is not going to happen.

Businesses won't just relocate to a disaster because it's cheap. Louisiana is decades behind states like Texas, Tennessee, and North Carolina in attracting business.

Look at the stipulations BR placed on IBM when IBM decided to open up shop in BR. Mandating employment hires for in state applicants, in a non informations systems and computer science state
