If you have problems, report them to the housing authority. I have a section 8 house on my block. A tenant cussed me out for petty foolishness in the middle of the day on a Sunday when I was 9 months pregnant. I reported them and they had to move.

I never knew you were a racist

Section 8 vouchers follow the tenant, not the house

This. You can sign up to accept Section 8 as a landlord, but it's not like that's all they take. Section 8 is usually taken as a last resort when you can't get anyone better. You'd have to live in a pretty crappy area for a landlord to only take section 8.

Now some landlords cater to section 8s as they are guaranteed to pay their rent and if they aren't decent tenants will be kicked out. But again that's only as a last resort or they chose that because they paid almost nothing for the rental property.

Section 8 never pays more than one can get in the normal rental market.

The problem is not the owner rooting out folks, the problem is the owner accepting Sec 8 folks. And I don’t think an HOA can stop it.

Our HOA bylaws state that the owner has to live in the home. No house can be rented/leased.
We actually have one owner who didn't abide by the rules and now has an empty house with a fine/lean against it.

For most people a home is a large investment. Is it racist to be worried about an investment’s value potentially plummeting?

Section 8 pays vouchers of $1200 a month. Some people see it as easy money.
I have one not far away. Amazes me because the house two doors over sold sor $329k so it's not a really cheap area. Just one house that's been the bad house forever. May not even be section 8. But that's what I was told.
The mom of the house has a
"Lick my chevy arse" sticker in her Tahoe. Lol

Yep, Section 8 confirmed. On to the next spot during our flight from trash.

Just because they're section 8 doesn't mean they're trash! They could be down on their luck

Your neighborhood is doomed. The Section 8 cancer continues to spread. I wish just one miserable politician would address the problem but it’ll never happen.

Hey, we live in the Dales and that scumbag Steve Myers owns several rental properties/halfway houses....yes, even in this neighborhood in BR. Keep an eye on the tenants and report them for every single little thing. Call the cops and tell them you suspect drug dealing going on. Just threatening him that we would do that if he Section 8-ed the house two doors down kept him from doing it.

So...lie to the cops. You sound like an awesome neighbor.
