Ukranians still remember.
I have a British friend who parents are both Ukranian and who emigrated to England after WWII. His Mom was forced to work in a German factory, his Dad was slave labor elsewhere in German.
He has never met his Grandparents or any of the rest of the family. Nor does he want to. The family is totally rent asunder.
Another friend had family living in Poland. Several aunts survived the war and walked to west Germany where the rest of the family had lived for a long time. Some of the aunts went crazy from what the Russian soldiers did to them. One survived out of determination to survive, and she did. With a hate of Russians that is almost incomprehensible. Germans treated her better on her long walk.

Poland is one of the few holding out against the globablist menace that has infected most of Europe. So I guess they learned a thing or two about socialism.

Eta: I’m a huge fan of the eastern bloc countries. They’re some badasses and take pride in their culture and want to keep their culture and fricking hate communism more than I do. Which is impressive.
