I believe Revelations wasn't necessarily predicting events yet to come but rather criticizing the Roman empire human abuses (even though the "prophecy" of Israel getting her homeland back in 1948 still lingers in my mind).
Perhaps "Christ's 1,000 year kingdom on Earth" has already come and gone and humans have advanced beyond scripture, which if so one could view either optimistically or pessimistically.
If humans have advanced beyond Christian scripture, one could easily embrace the negative viewpoint that the future is absolutely uncertain and hopeless (since we've moved beyond Christ - an age without Christ or the promise of eternal salvation).
Or, someone could embrace a positive viewpoint that perhaps moving into an age without religion is good for humanity since religion has been the source of constant conflict, wars, and human abuses since the beginning of time.
However, while western society is moving away from religion, the Mideast is fully embracing an extreme religious POV which borders on apocalyptic.
Personally, I don't think we've moved beyond the age of Christ. But I'm concerned that perhaps we're moving into the age of Islam which will only result in world death and destruction.

As in present day Vatican or just simply ancient Rome and we shouldn't view Revelations as prophetic?
St. Paul referred to Rome in his day as Babylon. No, not the Vatican which as the Catholic Church ultimately destroyed (or at least helped destroy) Rome.

But seriously the lady the sun, moon, and a garland of 12 stars is the EU.

That's pretty much it. It's no secret when you understand the Greek numerical value of Nero's name was 666 and that the Roman siege of Jerusalem lasted 7 years (66-73 CE), the exact number of years as the "great Tribulation".

Read Revelation 12:1 and then look at the flag of the EU.

The Catholic Church is your answer.
quote:. The whore is identified here and further as a city. The city which ruled the world at the time that was written was of course Rome. It may have been saying the city that was ruling or it may have been saying the city that will be ruling. There are only two options: Rome or New York City.
the woman (speaking of the whore of Babylon) whom you say is that great city which reigns over the kins of the earth
It is clear the False Prophet will be a world-wide spiritual leader, though, which gives a lot of credence to Rome/Roman Catholic Church being the whore, especially consider how this latest pope is tolerant and probably encouraging of sinful ways.

Isn't this the European Union flag? If so, where is the lady, sun, and moon?

The EU is the lady. The crown is the flag. Come on man.

Since we're talking biblical prophesy...these are the things that are supposed to occur before the anti-Christ takes over...they are in the bible...
- Israel becomes a state
-The dragon (the prophesy of Fatima said it was communism) will be slain and replaced by the beast
- The ability for everyone in the world to see an event at the same time must be available
- An over arching World Government, but does not control all the nations
- A 1 world currency
- Purchase and trade will be done with a mark in the hand or head...those that don't take it will be beheaded...
- A "star" called Wormwood must "fall" and make bitter a third of the world's rivers.
- A presumably different space thing hits the ocean and kills a bunch of fish, third of the world's oceans
- A combining of the world's religions will occur
- The temple mount will have another temple of Solomon built presumably with the dome still there (Abomination of Desolation?)
- There will be a united cabal of several nations (NATO?), made of the multitudes.
- Wonders will occur in the sky.
- The Four Horsemen come
- The white Horse, elites will rule and control everything
-The red Horse, non-stop wars and rumors of wars
-The black Horse, world wide economic collapse
- The pale horse, death (a bunch of people will die)
- Gog and Magog will put an army on the plains of Megido (presumably Russia and Iran) vs. Israel
- No one will come to Israel's aid, but God will sweep the armies away
There's more...

While I am absolutely certain that you should be sterilized, I'm not sure if you should be euthanized.
I'll get back to you on this, I'm leaning towards the positive.
