Is it at least decent?

In all honesty - no

My husband and I went there for the buffet in Feb 2020 - it was Smokey and most of the tables were not open

The bartender was nice and generous with the drinks

The hotel room was very clean and mostly comfortable.

I’m assuming no - but I’m very sensitive bc of my asthma

But even my husband complained about it and if usually doesn’t bother him

That is completly unAmerican to serve him on the buffet.

If you don’t wanna drive to Biloxi, just go to Island View in Gulfport. Two casinos to choose from. The non-smoking one faces the beach.

The Silver Slipper Casino A Decent Casino?

It’s a casino on the gulf coast.

“Decent” is dependent on your standards & how much you can spend.

Wow. Good to know. I put this place in secondary status on my Mississippi weekend getaways a long time ago.

It is way too far off the beaten path to get to. The two lane road that you take to get there can feel kind of sketchy at night. The food is excellent though buffet and Bayou Blue restaurants are great. Cell service can be spotty though while in the restaurants since they are in the back of the casino.

They are planning or actually working on an expansion especially with the growth of sports betting. They are looking to add a sports lounge and add additional hotel and gaming space from what I heard.

But if the new project in Slidell gets the green light, that will put a damper on some of their expectations. I can see why their owner made a push to pull the proposed Slidell’s casino’s permit since they were not operating with the license and get the gaming control board to award it to them so they could build the project. Because this will hurt their business. Not having to drive three miles off of US 90 and cross the state line will be be a big draw. Mainly, the people I have seen at that casino were from the north shore or locals from Hancock county.

To the negative ninnies out there in St. Tammany Parish, would you rather send your casino tax dollars in your own parish or keep sending it to Mississippi?

The main reason I stopped going there was that every time I had gone it was a waste. The machines felt tighter there than at Harrahs. Also, their food and comp offers to me had gone from little to nonexistent and made me not want to stop there. Now, couple that with a buffet price of 50 a head, sorry but I will drive a few miles further to Hollywood, Gulfport, and maybe Biloxi. Where I can eat and gamble with all comps and offers I received from those casinos.

Ditto on this one...Island View gives me the best in Comps, Room Offers, and Slot Play. With smoking and nonsmoking options, these are huge pluses. The only negative about the nonsmoking casino is that the parking is bad. Good luck if it is raining. It doesn't have a connected garage unless you park in the old casino parking garage and walk to the new one via the walkway bridge over 90. Hint: It is a long walk and you have to walk through the smokey casino. Depending on your food choice, you may still need to go to the old property. The buffet is only on the old side, the beachside does not have a buffet. Also, Island View is still prohibiting children under 21 from the property including the restaurants and hotels.

The only thing, their buffet is midtier at best. They have some decent food options, but they are not doing crabs at the moment due to cost. Treasure Bay is a food gem, but their buffet is really small, not as many food options and fewer tables, and the wait time for a table can be hours especially on a holiday. One day, my wait was 30 minutes, and I turned that 30 minute wait time into 250 dollars playing video poker.

With as many visits to Mississippi Casinos as I have logged in my 20 years of gaming, I probably could do a TulaneLSU list, but I will stop there.
