I think a better question would be "is racial discrimination a real thing" Racism is here, on all sides, and isn't going anywhere. Some would argue it is innate/has evolutionary advantage. It also isn't against the law. Discriminatory practices are. However, its weird that there are many discriminatory practices that favor minorities in the US, but because we live with these rules of racial favorability, it is allowed.

I see it

People who make decisions simply based on skin color and not the content of their character or intelligence

Of course, but the term is overused and often mis-applied and mis-diagnosed.

I've been violently assaulted, verbally accosted on multiple occasions, ignored in restaurants, harrassed by the police, etc. all because of the color of my skin. BTW, I'm white.

Of course racism played no part in that since I'm white so I don't know what to tell you.

I can tell you I took part in a "discussion" which was about 50/50 black /white. The question was asked about overt displays of racism experienced. I was shocked that the black folks in the group didn’t really have any examples to speak of. One person said "I didn’t experience anything overt but I know they were thinking it".

When I thought back about my experiences, I realized I had more personal examples of experiencing racism then the 8 people of color in the room shared. That said, I kept my mouth shut because I'm white and what I experienced doesn't matter.

The answer is that race has nothing to do with the propensity to commit violence...it is a host of issues

I don't think skin color gives you a certain genetic predisposal to being a violent criminal, but cultural aspects certainly do.

Crying wolf has led to normal humans having a malaise regarding racism.

Not only is it dumb, it is in direct contrast with what black leaders say as well as groups like BLM.

There is no such thing as "Black Leaders." No one represents or leads me more than I can lead and think for myself.

Indeed. "Black leaders" are just doing the work of white (and Jewish if you don't think they're white) dirty work.

I could not agree more. It's happened with me for sure. When a real instance of racism of the type that is most often publicized - white against black - occurs,

I tend not to trust or believe it due to all the exaggeration and out right false nature of it I've seen too often in the past.

They really have but they rarely have any consequences for it so it continues and increases.

I do think they are believed by fewer and fewer folks as time goes, but that won't stop them because again, no consequences.

100% accurate, IMO.

This is easily proven by African immigrants that come here and are successful.

Well again, the Progressives and "moderates" will tell you that you are a disgrace to your race.

Correct, there's really not much of a disadvantage to lie and deceive when it comes to this issue.

The default position of society is to believe all minorities.

Racism exists and that’s a fact. However, it’s about .0001% of people. The media will tell you that 90% of people are racist and that’s fiction.

And that culture is part and parcel of the culture of the United States...that violence and the destruction of lives of both victims and criminals does not happen without an impact to the overall living conditions of all Americans...simply ascribing it to one segment of the culture in this country and acting as if it is in a vacuum is problematic and at best obtuse if not downright evil.

Racism is just an offshoot of tribalism, or groupthink. It is a natural human response (seen in all primates) to protect the human's group against outsiders. Humans are logical, reasoning beings, who are capable of overcoming this natural tendency. It is, however, propagated by the very ignorant, who fail to use their minds, and the very intelligent, who weaponize it. This is why Progressives argue that rational thinking is a white, western construct. (See Smithsonian article)

The best example of institutional racism that exists today is how top schools treat Asian students in admissions processes.
