Is having the only working vehicle after an attack or disaster worth the risk?

Say the zombies launch an EMP attack and your 72 Monte Carlo is the only car still working. Or similar scenario where mobility is severely limited.
Is having it worth the risk as time goes on? At some point somone will try to kill you and take it.

In your scenario, there are zombies, but to caveat, they are technologically advanced and smart enough to launch an EMP strike. They have that knowledge/capability, and yet your concern is whether someone will steal your car? You won't live long enough for that to happen friend.
