Limited options to do something out here. Couldn't really care less about the music, but I enjoy when I have a beer from happys and lay out in the grass when the weather is nice. It's a small change of pace in a city with not many paces.

Agreed. BRPD is about to kill the golden goose if they keep this up.

We find any excuse to make sure the state will never be a fun /state to visit

Movie credits bring in millions of dollars of jobs and business? GET THE frick OUT

Business owners want to improve the slummed down areas of BR? THATS GENTRIFICATION, GET THE frick OUT

Oh people enjoy drinking outside which improves downtown development and tourism? GET THE frick OUT

They didn't just decide one night they had enough, but yes, this is the kind of shite that kills an area. Surprised the business owners down there haven't raised hell by now.

may have actually been some of the bar owners that pushed for it, people parking lot drinking instead of buying it in the bar

John Delgado's not on the metro council anymore, so he can't raise hell like he used to.

Well, maybe people drink outside because they can't smoke inside.
Besides, the three groups (Delgado, Walk-On's, Lava Cantina guy) own most of the bars downtown. They make a killing off of bar hopping patrons since they own all of the bars they hop between.

If thats the case then they are not bright folks. You will have some people drinking in the parking lot. but an event and atmosphere like that will bring foot traffic that you will never get in downtown BR naturally. Bubba can drink a couple miller lites in the parking lot but when he runs out or wants to go after some pussy, hes going in Happys/City bar/etc.

Maybe some, but from what I heard several bars have gotten stung for minors drinking to the tune of 1k per person. If they asked for it, they are regretting it. I think the ATF commissioner thing makes sense, I just don't know much about it.

Yes that bitch is behind it. I wish they would build section 8 housing next door to her house.

Mrs rattlebucket and i were at tsunami until 9 and then went to lava something on friday. I noticed the signs and didnt realize downtown br had laws against open container. Cops everywhere and I indeed saw folks openly holding beer cans on the street. The only police action was when some fine citizens decided to act cray on the 4th floor of the shaw building.

This is being done on an effort to clean up the crap that has started coming down town for promoted parties at 1913 etc and are parking lot drinking and roaming up and down 3rd st harassing women and causing a complete shite show. The police can not selectively inforce things on certain groups to stop the problems that have escalated recently so it will be enforced across the board. These are also the ones that are responsible for the shootings and fights, drug dealing etc in the parking lot. It will be an inconvenience in the short term, but will make things better for all long term.
