That’s good advice. I have tried calling right at 8 and it’ll say they are experiencing high call volume even then. I’m so concerned that if I can’t get through by Saturday that my arse will be off the gravy train. I tried calling now and apparently the whole system has crashed.
Do it Thursday.
Today was the first day the +600 hit most direct deposits.
They were always going to get hit with a bunch of people whose bank hasn't sent it through yet. But their friends got theirs.
My bank loves to do the partial release of funds on certain shite too.
By Thursday, it will have calmed down enough to do the above plan.

Is there any disadvantage that could come up in the future if I do the unemployment filing right now? Does it affect credit score or anything like that?

Got mine last week on Friday and this week on Monday.

I don’t think it has any impact on credit score. If you need it, apply. That’s what it is there for.

I would give the system a day or two. Usually it updates everything at midnight and if payments processed that day get deposited the next day.
Anyone in my shoes knows that getting through to be on hold is the biggest battle. I often have to call 100 times before I can navigate the screening questions and then, if I’m lucky, be on the hold queue. The most annoying thing is when after I press 1 for English, the robot on the phone says she “doesn’t understand; please try again.” Good grief
