We bought a Roomba a few years ago and it kept getting stuck under furniture. We eventually just quit using it. It's sitting in the garage gathering dust.

I have the 960 and it’s a game changer especially if you have pet hair. Mine has never gotten stuck under the sofa and one of the main reasons I love it is because it cleans under the furniture where pet hair and dust gathers. It goes under the tables and around the legs of each chair, really is incredible. It does skip small sections sometimes like others have said, but then hits those sections other times. It does like to go over areas it's already done and it wanders from room to room back and forth. My downstairs is about 2600 s/f approx and it takes about 2.5-3 hours to finish. That is kind of aggravating although it's very quiet. If you have pet hair you'll have to empty the bin each time but it's very easy to do. We haven't used the regular vac since we got the 960. I was reluctant to spend the $ but it's well worth it imo.

ps - I was warned not to use it if you have pets and you're not home (unless they're kenneled I guess). I heard a story of a dog that shite the floor and the roomba went back and forth through the shite tracking it all over the entire house and rubbing shite on the edge of walls and furniture...

They go over and over the same spots, leaving some areas untouched.

The cheap ones do. The one we have maps as it goes. It runs straight lines as it cleans, and generates a map sent to the app that shows a layout of your house where it cleaned.

Got a robotic lawnmower around my camp that does well. It cuts from midnight to 2 am and goes back to a charging station. Cuts a little here and a little there. At the end of 3 days the grass is fully cut. Works well where all I have to do is trim around the house and edge the side walk and driveway.

If this vaccums like my robotic lawnmower cuts grass then I will buy one.

My 960 does all that but still tends to skip one short hallway and a nook type area sometimes, maybe 20% of the time

Very cool contraptions....they will certainly not eliminate the need to clean your floors, though.

This!!! Just get a cleaning lady. I pay 100 bucks a week and she cleans way more than the roomba does. Plus a cleaning lady doesn't send error messages to your phone when it gets snagged on the couch

We have one of these. The Roomba and our golden retriever have daily battles. The Roomba attacks the Golden while she’s trying to sleep the day away, and the Golden just keeps on shedding. Between the massive amounts of dog hair and the robot becoming stuck under the furniture, the Golden retriever is the winner and still champion of the hair wars.

Honestly, I do not know. I have a few rugs and my 690 did okay, but did not do as well as the vacuum. I found it easier/more efficient to hire a cleaning lady for 100 bucks a week. I was having to clean up after the roomba sometimes which I found annoying.
