20 years of HR experience here - go ahead & take notes but NOT just about salary & benefits. Write down key words about the company & job description while the company rep is speaking - 1-2 words only. Not whole sentences - then do the same while describing benefits & salary. As long as you are quick & not looking down all the time it is fine - could be seen as detail oriented. If you're scribbling the whole time I'm talking it's annoying & seen as inexperienced. Fine line.
