I do not dispute that this happens, but I also take into consideration I don't know how much load each truck is carrying.

But 90% of the time, it's a truck waiting on a Honda or something in the left lane. I've had many, many, hours to study this with Asperger like attentiveness. Truckers tend to be an issue in city limits (in Houston, that's 80+ miles east to west), but I also have watched them get cut off repeatedly on I-10. They lose their jobs if they hit something, so I get the reticence to be anything less than loss averse. The number of cars, shitty SUVs/trucks and luxury cars/SUVs/trucks that I've seen floating in the left lane in a 70/75 far outweighs the truck problem.

Usually what I do is get to the right to let the car pass,

In the situation today, I couldn't do that. I was passing cars that were in the middle lane, and I try to move away from the on-ramp as well to allow those vehicles to merge onto the interstate.

This guy appeared to have a death wish, and I didn't want any part of it.

He was from Mississippi with a Harrison County plate.

Absolutely key missing detail. I see a Georgia plate from Dekalb or Fulton, I get prepared for hijinx. Cobb, not so much.

Don't know much about Mississippi counties, but anything registered to a county with an active military base is going to be full of 19 year olds with money doing 19 year old things.

Only on the OT is someone the bad guy for not scrambling to cut back in immediately when another driver is suddenly tailgating him, after swerving across 3 lanes of traffic at 95 mph. Y’all are trying way too hard

Maybe you aren’t trying hard enough. OP sounds like a George Carlin joke. “ Everyone driving slower than me is an a-hole. Anyone driving faster than me is a maniac”. Doesn’t work
Like that. And by his own admission, the BMW tailgated him. So why not move over immediately?
I’d bet money Will sat in the left lane to prove a point. But if someone did that to him, he’d start another thread bitching about that “a-hole”.

I don’t condone the BMW drivers behavior, but it seems hypocritical to bitch about someone trying to pass you in the passing lane while you’re trying to pass others in the passing lane.

And you'd lose that bet. I would have moved over for him when it was safe to do so. But it wasn't because I was still passing cars in the middle lane. I prefer to not get my vehicle rear-ended because of some inpatient a-hole who has no regard for other human beings driving on the road.

The BMW swerved all the way to the on-ramp lane and then cut across 3 lanes of traffic back to the left lane.

Define “immediately.”

Do you people really think you’re supposed to force your way into a line of cars (in a construction zone no less) that are already packed into the lane like sardines, just because some maniac ran up on you at 95 mph and is riding your bumper? Especially when you’re probably already driving as fast as you can behind the car in front of you?

You get over when it is safe to do so. Of course, everybody knows this but y’all choose to ignore it for some reason.

He’s not bitching about someone “trying to pass him.” He’s bitching about someone driving 95-100 mph swerving across multiple lanes of traffic.

Yes. I remember years ago I saw a car go onto the shoulder to pass another. I was dumbfounded at what I had seen.
The ONLY times anyone can make this excuse is either for a medical emergency or when traffic is stopped just prior to your exit. I absolutely hate the people who think they are too special to follow basic traffic laws.

The worse two are Atlanta and Chicago. Chicago just started 3 years of construction on the Dan Ryan that is going to get some of these idiots shot for road rage.
