Walt, I’m glad you are okay. Everyone in the protest thread said you may have got a DWI. Always take an Uber man.

If brees held out hed be a fricking hero. Instead he cucked himself with 3 apologies, honesy may as well have denied christ 3x with how the mob reacted.

NEVER APOLOGIZE.

What apology is Brees on now? 3 or 4? I thought more of the guy than this.

His response to Trump really made me lose some respect. He just sounds like a bitch now.
Be a man and defend what your point was but acknowledge their point as well. That’s all you had to do. They were never going to respect you again anyway. Stand your ground. The mass majority of fans are still with you.

Again, I get the sentiment but I’d love to see some on here that are being critical give up what he’d be giving up.

Only then can you put yourself in Drew Bree’s shoes. What a pussy

I'm a year or so older than Brees but he could have fathered a few of those Saints starters theoretically. They are mostly all dumbasses to him and they'll be so to you too when you are the same age.

I guess it just depends on what’s more important to the individual. I like to think that if I were in his position, career winding down and a couple hundred million in the bank, I’d have said frick y’all and rode off into the sunset with my head held high. But maybe not...who knows

Am I the only one who wasn’t outraged by either his initial comments (but understand why they were criticized just not to outrage level) or his new comments?

It’s reasonable that he would like HE was being disrespectful if he kneeled because he is standing for something personal and important to him. The the issue seemed to be that he implied (or may have stated) anyone who kneeled was being disrespectful.

And isn’t it possible that after talking to his teammates, who I am sure he cares a lot about, he realized that their reasons for kneeling were for something personal and important to them, not to disrespect what he was standing for?

And since by all accounts, Brees is a good guy who probably cares a lot about his community (and nation as a whole) as well as his teammates and the things that are important to them. So why is it so unreasonable that he cares about both what people (and himself) stand for AND based on his discussions with his teammates what others kneel for (his teammates) as well? And that would mean he wouldn’t have an issue with standing or kneeling now.

The multiple apologies in one day doesn’t look great for him honestly. Neither fringe side will respect it.

Apologizing would never help either way. He still said it and likely meant it. All that did was piss off the people that supported what he said.

But I see nothing about his new comments that indicates he cares any less about what he had already valued and how he displayed that, he just understands and cares about his teammates valued and how they display it.

Personally, I have no issue with anyone who standing for one thing that is most important to them while others kneel for the other thing that is most important to them. And doing one doesn’t mean you don’t value the other and intend to disrespect it, so I do have an issue when people accuse others who do the opposite of that they did (either way) of not caring and being disrespectful, unless they actually said they didn’t care and intended to be disrespectful.

Anyone who doesn’t understand this is simply being triggered by it on purpose.
