With no right of petition (filing suit against government) there is no mechanism for enforcing such law besides revolt.

Pretty sure you can accomplish this without professional law interpretors. People can and have filed grievances against governments without some charlatan getting a pay check from it.

nice.......but.....would osha exist if there weren't attorneys to sue people?

You aren't helping the stereotype of plant operators on here.

If there weren't at least a few lawsuits now and then people like you would be losing limbs and getting gassed by H2S every day.

Sorry about your itchy coveralls, champ.

And that would last about one week until some the of brighter people started specializing in the practice and charging those who can't cognitively handle it.

It's like arguing that medicine would be exactly the same if we got rid of surgeons and all did our own surgeries.

Because you are innocent until you can prove you have enough money to hire an attorney with ties to the inside.

don't think anyone is knighting for the noble profession of lawyering, but by definition you can't have "laws" without "lawyers." Someone has to make them, write them down, and interpret them. Whether it is their profession or not.

Fair enough. But our current system is more than absurd. We elect lawyers to make laws that no one is aware of or understands, then those laws are interpreted by different lawyers and enforced by police who can't possibly understand them because of how numerous and complex they are. And then when they are enforced, their ambiguity is explored even more at great cost to plaintiffs, defendants and municipalities. All this effort for very little to no tangible societal gain.

It's fricking stupid, frick lawyers..... Sorry.

No, surgeons perform an actual task. They heal physical problems. Law professionals cure problems made up by other law professionals.

Hey man, go ahead and represent yourself in court, tell all your friends to do it as well

Every profession developed out of specialized knowledge and experience of a specific field from law and medicine to mechanics

I hope I am your friend.

I'm a personally conservative person (though socially liberal).

This is true but there's a difference. Some of those professions serve to better society; engineers, plumbers, doctors, even strippers. They serve a purpose or fulfill a desire that society has.

Other professions only serve the professional and actually hinder society; lawyers, cat burglars and other kinds of lawyers. The law profession created a need through manipulation and now they are a necessity.

Think of it this way, if you were on a desserted island and you could bring certain professions with you to set shite up, you would certainly want an engineer and a plumber and maybe a stripper. Lawyer would not make an appearance on your list because they aren't necessary until they are there.
