Twitter is invaluable for me. It is, IMO, the world's best source of real time information. I hate that Jack is such a SJW, but it's the one social media platform I'd keep above any other.
Reddit is just for casual information for me. I get Braves discussion/news, on the ground news about the Syrian civil war, ideas for DIY projects, dog pictures, whatever. It's just time killing but you can probably use Reddit as a pretty valuable life enrichment tool if you stick to substantive subs
