Baste the broccoli with a little onion powder, garlic salt and olive oil and toast it in the oven. Add a little soy sauce and its delicious.

When I was in college, he was recognized with a major award and gave us a speech during the award dinner. This was a couple of years after losing to Clinton.
During his speach he remarked about his the biggest regrets in office:
"Read my lips . . . " and the broccoli farmer fiasco. It was pretty funny hearing describe how he had no idea that mentioning he hates broccoli would be such a big deal!
