they get ahead fast.. but check on them again 10 years later..
A fresh operator will max out his rate after about 4 years, whereafter he's known as a Baw and is all about those hours. He's making 140K before you start your 5th year in that BBA program.
They get shite on and shift work sucks, but if all you care about is money then it's almost impossible to pass those guys up.

Well considering you don’t know the difference between >60k and <60k I maybhave found out why you’re struggling compared to baws

Something about working 100 hours a week in order to make 140k a year doesn't have me jealous

Vastly depends on the degree in question... Engineering and medical come to mind and you're not working 100hours of OT a week.

I'm with you on that! Just saying that if they start early, without considering quality of life factors, it's hard to argue the financial advantage.

Gotta remember also that all the contractor baws have zero health insurance and zero benefits.

Where I work I think the operators are at $43-$44 an hour. Doesn’t take much OT to get to $140k from there. Maybe 15 hours a week or so? Most professional positions at the same place routinely work 50-55 hours a week. I just couldn’t do the shift work though. I tried it years ago and it wasn’t for me.

medical
Only people in medical who are making this much money either went to school for 6+ years or are working 100 hours a week. Medical pay isn't what most people think it is. It pretty well sucks for what you have to do and put up with and that's before liability.

I took his comment as degree vs non-degree occupations in general.
In most cases you are correct, advanced degree is required.

Being a baw is more of a stereotype than anything. This thread is nothing more than gossip, half truths, and a LOT of insecurity.
