You should see the homes I’ve seen them rough in slabs. Homes are so out of square you could have stepped it off better and lots of busted concrete to move plumbing back to the walls.
After the first one… I would have had someone there that could read a tape measure to check the forums and plumbing stubouts before the concrete guys showed up.

You think all illegals work sober?

No…millions of them get up everyday and get trashed, don’t believe in God or families or have any work ethic or skill.
The black/white nature of this issue for conservatives and ignorance as to the reality of how many, technically illegal people, are actively working in this country each day is staggering. It is an absurd blindness to reality and 20+ years of immigration policy.

I'm not insinuating anything. It's pretty clear what I wrote. I don't know how to say it more plainly.

in the video notice the arch drawing. That is as likely to be the problem as the carpenters.
Replacing my house after Harvey, I hired an Austin arch. to generate the 15 or so drawings necessary. Constant spelling errors, and more importantly dimensional errors. The finished print for the stairway had a window facing into the attic. My non English carpenters id'd the problem and we relocated the window to another wall.
Quality of work from the non-english was a thousand times better than the Austin white guy liberal

The ones in construction trades.
Their main goal is staying drunk and/or high all day on your dime.

Let me help you……
American workers will do job for 1500.
Mexican crew will do it for 1000.
Contractor get 10%. Contractor hires Mexicans. Still charges the 1500 and his 10%. Americans can no longer get jobs because the contractors are hiring Mexicans and making more money.
They didn’t need Mexican labor, they wanted cheap labor. Now the American guys are out of business, the Mexicans can charge wtf they want…..contractors still want to make their money….houses are 250/sqft.

Poor anecdote...this may be true in spec homes or track homes without a customer, but in that sense the contractor isnt "charging" extra, he's lowering costs. I'd bet the vast majority of custom homes are cost plus.
Posted on 9/3/25 at 3:48 pm to doc baklava
Profit over everything. Every country uses cheap labor to build their economy up. Thailand uses Cambodians. The Middle East uses Indians. We used Mexicans. There's no going back.

Are you insinuating that the cost plus model will prevent contractors from getting kickbacks from subs?
But the point is that “Mexican” brick layers and roofers drove American crews out of business and now due to lack of competition they can charge what they want.
