Following that logic, everyone that was arrested for weed possession could sue the cities/states for turning them in or for giving evidence to those authorities.
How does that logic follow? Those places where city/state officials are arresting people for possession don't have a law specifically denying city/state officials from doing so like San Francisco does for immigration enforcement.

Further proof that the people that run San Francisco (and California, for that matter) have absolutely lost their minds.
Such a shame too, because California is the most incredible state in the lower 48 IMO.

If you're arrested for weed possession by a Boulder city police officer and turned over to the Feds, you might have a case.
ETA - As Breesus said, there is still a difference between saying something is legal and saying you will refuse to turn over an illegal immigrant.

You keep getting downvoted, but you're correct. The law is ridiculous, but it is the city's law. Police officers do not write the laws; they enforce those on the books. Let the state and federal governments react to San Francisco's laws with their power. With enough outrage it will change. In the meantime, the city cops need to follow the laws of the city.

Thank you for your proper use of the word "criminal" which is EXACTLY what this person is.
