The most expensive shoes I ever bought were these Nike cross trainers That CJ was wearing on this SI cover. The cover, and pictures inside, caused Dale Brown a little grief since LSU contracted with Converse back then. Trouble couldn't have been to bad with Joe Dean being the Converse rep then.

They were $125, but I got them for $75 about the time that magazine came out. Doak Walker shut down the sporting goods store he had at Lovers and Inwood in Dallas. They had everything marked down.



They looked great but a hole tore under where my big right toe ended about a year and a half into them.
