Homer was a great storyteller. I always preferred Greek literature and mythology to English lit and the Canterbury Tales and that pot-head Shakespeare.

I wasn't interested in Homer and Shakespeare but I enjoyed reading Philip Roth , Robert Coover , Nabakov , Raymond Carver , and John Updike.
