Dumbassery such as this leads to road rage and crashes. Just be civil. Dayum

usually have my cruise set on the interstate, on I-10 that means 80. If the guy in front of me is going 1 mph less, I merge left and let nature take it's course. I'm sorry if that takes a minute, but that doesn't mean I need to hammer down just to get past him faster.

See this is why you're a selfish pos who doesn't know how to properly drive.

A crucial step in your process should be to check your rear view and if you don't have enough time to pass that vehicle at your speed before other vehicles would catch up, you either speed up and make the pass or slow down until your chance comes. However, you'd rather inconvenience a line of cars rather than your selfish arse to avoid slowing your cruise by 1 mph.

this never happened

I know, it's hard to believe. It happened though. She no longer slams on her breaks or slows down to stop at yellow lights.

You’re doing it wrong too. LA law says the left lane is only for overtaking and passing slower moving traffic. Once accomplished, move back to the right lane. You are not legally allowed to remain in the left lane.

Looks like you’re mostly right. I did not know that.

B.(1)(a) Upon all multilane highways, no vehicle shall be driven in the left-hand lane except when directed otherwise, preparing for a left turn at an intersection or private road or driveway, overtaking or passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction, or when right-hand lanes are congested; however, no vehicle being driven in the left lane except when directed otherwise or preparing for a left turn at an intersection, private road, or driveway shall impede any other vehicle that is traveling in the same lane and behind that vehicle.

You may not realize it, but the fast drivers are usually driving pretty safe, and are alert. The slow cautious drivers are creating traffic jams and road rage.

This. The faster drivers are usually the safer drivers. The slow ones cause the accidents.
