I think Southerners are friendlier.More willing to help a stranger.We're brought up to say "Sir" and "Ma'am".

My older Sister's 2nd marriage was to someone in Wyoming.People thought she was crazy because she was polite to a waiter or waitress.

My 14 year old Nieces were singled out by their teachers because they said "Sir" and "Ma'am".This of course caused their classmates to bully them to some extent.
