Nashville? I have a buddy that lives in Clarksville...Nashville and Asheville seem like some extremes. Asheville is beautiful. Nashville was cool to visit, but not live

I did Nashville a few times in 2016 and was surprised each time that it wasn't as awesome as I was expecting.
East Nashville/Five Points was cool, but the city as a whole was just meh for me.

Asheville sucks after about three days.

I'll never be able to just stay in one place. A perfect retirement would be a house in Silver City, NM and a house in Gulf Shores, AL. Split the time depending on the weather and mood.

I want to visit Oregon.
Same. It is my next non-work-related trip if I can help it.

If I have to live in Nashville I'm buying a house in Franklin.

Move to Alaska and spend 90% of your time on a Lousiana based website trying to convince people how great it is.
It is badass.. I doubt someone like you would appreciate it though.

That's why Alaska doesn't work for me. I want to be able to drive to the airport and hop on a plane 365 days a year and go wherever the hell I want. If not drive to an airport, take a boat to wherever, or my jeep to wherever. If I want snow I'll fly to Colorado, ski for a week at a time then head back to the coast.

oregon (country-side), colorado (large ranch), Alaska (Kodiak island)

I'm still pretty young, so I think Nashville would be awesome. I have a lot of friends that have moved there within the last year. Not saying I'd do it permanently, but for a year or two that would be great. I'm big on music so I'd probably look into doing that, and then have an actual job along with it. Asheville is kinda like Lafayette, where I currently live, but nicer and with mountains. I really do like Lafayette a lot, though.
