PLAQUEMINE, La. (WAFB) - Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi held a news conference about a “major” drug bust on Feb. 19.
Stassi said 30 people have been arrested in connection with distributing drugs in Iberville Parish thanks to a three-month-long investigation by the sheriff’s office.
This is a developing news story. WAFB will update this story as more information becomes available.

Wow Brett Stassi is looking old. 25 years ago he was an individual you did not frick with even if you thought you were a badass.
Had all his hair then.
Good for him and the good folks of Iberville Parish

I always read these things and wonder what the purpose is.
I mean these big drug raids literally keep a lot of sherriffs offices afloat financially.
Can we just give them a bigger budget and legalize most stuff already and end the nanny state?

No. I just saw that it was an investigation that included the FBI. The FBI's help was requested. Departments that don't have anything to hide don't mind requesting the help of the FBI especially when it involves undercover agents.. Because departments that do have something to hide don't want those undercover agents to find out what's really going on.
There were several people die from ODing within a short period of time awhile back (in Iberville) It was related to a batch of heroin with too much Fentanyl. They looked into charging the people who sold it with 2nd degree murder, but that wasn't an option, but evidently it is something they are going to look into trying to do. That way, they will be able to keep the bigger fish off the street longer.
