Traffic cops are in the business of revenue generation for the city/county/state. The most efficient uses of their time to raise the most money are to sit on open stretches of highway and bust people doing 6-10 over in little or no traffic or camp out on stop signs people roll through.

Actually driving around monitoring traffic patterns and preventing traffic violations (everyone on their best behavior with a black and white beside them) results in fewer citations and a lot less funding for the police dept.

Congrats on having a fundamental misunderstanding of all traffic laws.
He’s technically correct.

Driving too slow increases your chances of being in an accident for three reasons:

1. It increasing the amount of traffic around your vehicle
2. It increases lane changes around your vehicle
3. Incites road rage

Driving faster actually reduces your chances of being in an accident because it inverts those three points, it just increases your chances of being in a fatality of you have an accident.
