So Sao you would rather your kid be suspended than be without a phone for breaking a policy you the parent signed and agreed to? I really hoped you haven’t reproduced.

Oh they have for sure…and they spelled out how the punishment would graduate with repeated violations…there is zero pushback from us. He knew what the punishment would be for sure.

So then what are you doing on your end to discipline the kid? Because it sounds like you're solely depending on the school to do that, while also complaining about them keeping your son's phone (did they not offer to give you the phone back)?

A) It's none of your fricking business.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding. No, he shouldn't be suspended but they'd give to me for lock up at home. Jr. is shite out of luck for the week.

Wait why shouldn’t he be suspended if the parent demands the phone that is the policy the OP agreed to? Either the phone stays or the student is suspended. You just think he shouldn’t receive any punishment from the school for breaking policy? The parent doesn’t get to ignore a policy they personally signed lol

Except you think it is "odd", question why they're doing this and telling Jr. that it's bullshite, right? No pushback except this passive-aggressive posturing.

Chad504boy was absolutely the kid who talked to teachers and other adults like he was grown and his parents backed him up any time consequences came

point is valid. a parent's discipline or means of discipline is not some fricking 1 hour english teacher's concern.

Dude, I'd tell them to give him licks if they wanted. Detention. Wear a Dunce cap for all I care. Whatever. Suspend? If it's gotten to that point with pervasive behavior I'd imagine I would've been informed by then to yank a knot myself before suspension even occurs. And yes, I've procreated and no you can't see her pics.

Agree to disagree.

. The school won’t refuse to give it him if the parent demands it back. But the kid goes home with it.

No one refuted this.

quote:

This is a policy the OP SIGNED an agreement to at the beginning of the school year. The amount of time the phone would be held was spelled out in writing for each offense and what would happen if the parent demands the phone back depending on the amount of offenses.

This was never stated. You stated that he did and unless you have some sort of personal relationship with OP, then you don't know for sure that he signed anything of the sort. The OP never confirmed or denied this. It is certainly reasonable to think OP signed something, but not fact. Even if you are just rationalizing this based on what other schools might do, there no guarantee that the policy is the same.

quote:

Anybody agreeing with the OP lacks even the most basic human logic.

Again. Agree to disagree.

It is if your kid can't adhere to some basic school rules and you're doing absolutely nothing at home to reinforce better behavior. Parents who depend on schools to discipline their kids are 100% the problem these days.

Do better. Stop raising a shitass.

seems like you aren't doing a good job of enforcing rules. But just like a child's grades, its never your fault. You'd be the first one for blaming a parent for not teacher their kid enough too.

First off, I'm not a teacher.

Second, if you think education and discpline only happens during the hours of school then you did a fantastic job of putting your kid behind the 8-ball. Congrats on that, I guess. Parents who fully depend on schools to be the end all, be all for their kids are what have consistently helped frick up the education system. Teachers should be able to teach without having to pick up the slack from parents not parenting.

Lastly, schools wouldn't have to come up with these dumbass rules to discipline your kid if you were doing it.
