The problem is "monkey see monkey do". All these advertising mills thinks that if one of them does something they all must do it.
If they tried actually taking care of their clients, maybe they would realize what the guy down the street does really does not have an impact on their practice.
The problem is that is is killing sole practitioners. They suck all of the air out of the room.

I took a traffic control class when I was in Louisiana. The teacher taught the course all over the South. He told a story, that made me aware of how litigious things are in Louisiana vs the rest of the South.
He said that in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana; you have a similar population size and land size. I'm Alabama and Mississippi, about 18% of auto accidents end up in court. In Louisiana, it's almost 60%.
Why is it so much higher in Louisiana? The Napoleonic code. Lawyers who graduate from public universities in Louisiana cannot pass the bar in any other state. So they're stuck, and usually become ambulance chasers.

I've also defended more than a few and many many (a large majority) of them were negligent in one way or another. I have also dealt with some frivolous suits but I think you're having a bad day and taking it too personally.

Gawd i love hearing non-lawyers explain this shite to me abt La. I had to quit correcting them. FTR, despite my limited Napoleanic Code edumacation, I passed the CA Bar first try.

I'd love to see the actual stats on this. I think the advertising definitely creates cases and a view that an accident entitles some folks to money.

The frivolous plaintiff's attorney is a myth for the most part. Why would a plaintiff's lawyer file a frivolous auto suit? They have to eat costs until the settlement.

I'm a trucker and have told everyone I meet in conversation to get a dashcam and learn how to save/clip videos. I've had entirely too many near misses from pathetic drivers so I have the rand McNally 100 on the front and about to invest in go pros for side windows that catch the mirrors as well. Freightliner is building the mounts.

I heard it from a teacher at an ATSSA advanced mot course. Don't blame me because national traffic safety organizations are talking shite about Louisiana.

I would love to see it written too. As I did in another reply, it came from an ATSSA class, meant for LADOTD inspectors and managers. Not some random online nobodys.
I do know after I heard that stat, I was always paranoid as hell when driving a company truck. I felt like a target.

Injury attorneys support daytime TV shows. Their advertising isn't going anywhere.
The commercial breaks for judge shows and trashy shows like Maury and the British dude during the day are nothing but personal injury attorneys and for profit colleges.
Too much money flowing in a circle. No way that gets curtailed.

Just remeber all the lawyers who are "for" the ethics rules now made their hay when it was the Wild West and anything went.

I would have assumed that all truck drivers whether for a company or independents would be running a cam at all times. Do they not? That's low investment and high reward considering that I'm seeing more and more that the personal injury commercials are focusing on trucks because they want to get that sweet corporate money.
