And also for the love of and in exchange for little slips of paper with images of U.S. Presidents on them. And Alexander Hamilton and Benjamin Franklin.

Myspace
was the shite..especially for band pages.

Hell, I was able to get over with that format. They even allowed you to let fans download mp3s of the songs, and write your own HTML

Then parents got on and lamed it up

It’s a double-edged sword but one that seems to be more worse than better for society.

I'm not convinced it has had a net positive impact on humanity.

It hasn’t. The big positive used to be how fast breaking news could travel, but now you have people reporting before they have any facts, or just making up whatever they want, so social media pretty much sucks.

Same thing with Facebook.

It used to be college friends posting actual status updates.

"We're having a party this weekend"
"Who wants to go on a road trip?"
"Does anyone have an Intro to Philosophy book I can buy?"

Then moms signed up and started posting pictures of their food and sharing Jesus memes. "One like = one prayer"

I quit using it completely in 2015 haven't missed it at all.

It's bad for humanity and only leads to anger and control.

Twitter allowed Egyptians to organize to try and overthrow their government a decade ago. That was a net positive.

An anonymous message board is much different than social media.

Yeah, I can't stand this stuff. To be fair your generation is awful about it too. The amount of "instagram girls" and "influencers" out there makes me roll my eyes. They are all the same to me.
