I was looking to move back to New Orleans. But the job market in my industry is weak. But I just landed a promotion in my company today, to transfer to the Gulf Coast. I'll be a short drive from Nola, a short drive from the beach, and I'll get to be around my family and old friends. I couldn't be happier.

I miss the north:
I miss the seasons.
I miss the clean, clear water.
I miss the hills and mountains to hike in.
I miss the ball busting with people.
I miss not having my tool shed being broken into once a quarter.
But I do love the south.
I miss the seasons.
I miss the clean, clear water.
I miss the hills and mountains to hike in.
I miss the ball busting with people.
I miss not having my tool shed being broken into once a quarter.
But I do love the south.

I miss the great food.... the gumbo, the jambalaya, the boils
I miss the friendliness and simplicity of southerners
I miss laying by the pool almost year around
I miss tailgating at college football games
I miss the slow paced easy life and the cheap living
I've been thinking about moving to Sheridan, WY. You just changed my mind.

I’ll trade your daily 40s for our daily 90s

Moved to Seattle from BR two years ago. One of the best decisions of my life. Have never looked back, although I do miss the food. The weather here is actually great. In summer, 4 months without a drop of rain and limitless hikimg/camping. In winter, only 90 minutes to wonderful winter outdoor options. Only half the rainfall of BR, so even rainy winters don't keep people inside. I no longer spend Saturdays in Tiger Stadium, but UW football is nothing to scoff at.

North Carolina is the South, too.

But even if it’s not raining you still only see the sun maybe once or twice a week. That’s depressing as hell.
