Been cutting my own for decades now. Easy once you get some decent equipment. I use to cut it to maintain some length and had to fade it from fairly short to the longer areas and use thinning scissors to remove some bulk.
As I've gotten older, it's not so important so it's mostly flat tops or buzz cuts for me between letting it grow out and me getting tired of dealing with combing it to keep it looking neat.

It isn’t against the orders to get a pro to cut your hair. You just can’t go to a salon. Nothing against a back porch or a kitchen as long as there aren’t 10 people there.

That's not true in California. They have threatened loss of license if they are caught doing in-home haircuts for money, or advertising it.

Damn that’s rough. I heard a pro in New Iberia lost her license because she was running her salon through the back door, like in the salon, but I haven’t heard any threats against back porch cuts. Got one myself on Monday.
