I have a dryer buying question

So we're moving into a rental house for one year and have to buy a washer and dryer. The house has both electric and gas hookups for the dryer.
My question is do most new houses have hookups for both? We'll be moving to a permanent house in a year and I don't want to buy the wrong kind and be stuck.
Both houses will be in Mandeville if that makes any difference.

Get the gas dryer -- i'm assuming you're moving in to a house you are buying/renovating after the rental? If so-- just get gas hookups in the new place too.

We'll be buying, but haven't found a house yet. So no guarantee. I guess the gas is the easy answer, I just hate the added cost

Just buy a used set off Facebook or Craigslist for like $300 for both to last you the year. It's hard to say what your new house will have.
