No, and it's debatable if salt is needed. Home boilers don't have the necessary equipment to "purge" crawfish the commercial way.

On the shell I can't stand them.

Best seafood I ever ate was home-cooked by an old girlfriend's mother back in high school 100 or so years ago it seems like. Crabmeat sauce piquant.
