It's not like the clowns running the show don't intentionally bring it upon themselves.

When you crave attention like the OP, it's an easy way to get it.

Then I guess you could say I am literally "living the dream"

I didn't realize how bad it was mostly because I grew up there. Then I moved away and the light of truth dawned upon me.

Yep. Spent most of last year out of town. Came back to be shocked at the crime and traffic.

Dude DC sucks too

I don't understand some of y'all claiming to be somewhere sooooo much better. Of course all big cities suck to me.

Give me a small town 1 hour from a major city

I mean, if you don't like bigger cities, then more power to you. I disagree, but to each their own.

Not that DC isn't without it's problems, but it's a gigantic step up from BR.

Not to me because it's not 2 hours from marsh fishing for reds and doesn't have have LSU football in the fall

Everyone has their own preferences. For me traffic and crime are the things I want to avoid.

As I said, to each their own. It's a subjective thing.

I actually live in Arlington county, just over the Potomac from DC but still very urban. Practically everyone has a college degree and it's one of the top ten highest-income counties in America.

As you might suspect, crime is pretty low. We average one homicide per year. Even the cops are nice when they pull you over. I haven't heard a gunshot at night since I left BR.
