It just hit me that in a few days it’s going to be the 18 year anniversary of that horrific day. I can’t believe how fast time goes by since it happened.

There are retards in college now who weren't born when 9/11 happened. That's pretty crazy.

Why can't you believe it? September 11 is on the calendar every single year. Nothing's changed.

Sophomore in high school. I remember the moment, and that day and the rest of that year so well.

Everything changed. I liked the pre-9/11 world better

Nobody but the most senior current officers and NCOS were in uniform that day and we're still in those shitholes.

Brings back bad memories for me as I’ve posted here before hell probably every anniversary... I was one of the last people on the WTC in late late August . I was 12 . I remember all of that and I’ll never forget 9/11 and the days after

Should’ve rebuilt the trade centers as they were.

Trump was pushing for that. They should have listened.

September 11 should be a federal holiday.

Seems like I remember Bush floating a "Patriot's Day" in the months after but I don't know what happened with it.

I think it is considered Patriots Day...but it's not a federally recognized holiday.

Read somewhere federal holidays cost too much money.

ETA: I guess I could see one bad thing about it being a holiday anyways. Over time people wouldn't see the importance. It would just be a day off to them.

Yet they get almost one every month and no sign of getting rid of them

I almost mentioned that in my post. In 20 years people would be throwing cookouts and holding mattress sales.

It should be observed in similar fashion to Pearl Harbor Day.

But hey, let's meet up with the Taliban to celebrate.
