I drove that section of I10 west yesterday. There should be a no semi's in left lane from Port Allen to Breaux Bridge. And there are too many drivers tailgating and weaving in and out of traffic.

I do get over. I never drive in the left lane except to pass. But there's always that a-hole that comes out of nowhere and rides my arse while I'm passing someone. But I'm not going to speed up to 20mph over the limit to get out of their way. I'll get over when I pass the guy and that other guy is just going to have to wait.

Then I'm not talking about you. I'm speaking of the idiots who STAY in the left lane and piss off 20-30 cars behind them for 5 miles. As a driver one needs to be aware of what is going on at all times.

18 wheelers should never be in the left lane except in emergency situations (someone changing a tire on the shoulder, cop stopping or assisting someone, etc)
But they pass ALL the time on the bridge. And LSP NEVER pulls them over when they see it. I see it happen every day.

I just missed it. The way people were driving in the rain it's no surprise.

What, you expect drivers to turn on their lights in the rain? Front headlights don't improve visibility in the rain (something a dingbat once told me when I was complaining about the lack of lights).

They ought to triple the fine for the lack of lights in the rain. That's a lot more dangerous than most speeding.
