I absolutely hate driving on the spillway. Always some sort of wreck or a car just on fire for some reason.

I'd much rather take 3127 and hit the veterans bridge to go to Baton Rouge. Only way I take the spillway is if I'm in New Orleans and have to go to BR.

thinking if someone counted , there are probably 50 or more patches where the concrete is damaged due to vehicle fire.

Nah, I'm on that thing quite a bit and I think that it is rare that something happens. Of course when it does, it's a big deal, but it seems we can go weeks without a wreck, especially west bound.

I drive past that fire this morning shortly after it happened and then drove past the guy who stole it walking down the interstate just as state police were pulling up behind him.

Never been that close to a car fire but even 30 feet away and windows up it was still hot as hell.
