Good job Willcover, may have kept him from killing an innocent family or himself.

How fast were you going during all of this?
I hit 105. My vehicle could have easily kept up but since I am older and not as good as I once was, I didn't want to go any faster.

I just thought, this could have been my wife and two girls on the road tonight or someone's else family. Had to get him off the road.
One more part to the story, as I was flashing him, he would slow down every so often ... he stuck his left hand out the window and gave me the "mocking" "or the you talk too much" symbol.
He was brave. He had plenty of liquid courage.

I can only hope that you are joking

So instead of having one car on i-10 going over 100 mph you decided to take the law in your own hands and chase the guy and also drive over 100 mph. Real safe. How dumb are you?

As are you. Goodnight sir

I was following directions from the LA SP dispatch.

You're a hero for doing this. There's just a very few things I hate more than drunk drivers. You most likely saved a lot of lives tonight.
I assume Ascension Sheriff's Deputies and State Troopers took care of this?

Was doing at least 115 mph coming from New Orleans area. I got his license plate
I seriously wonder how many times I've been called in then.

Downshift and floor it.

Yes.
He was cuffed and put in the back of the car.

They need new dispatchers/policy then. What if a car saw the drunk guy and got out of the way but didn't see you and hit you, or you wiped out and killed/injured yourself?
Too much liability. This is a personal injury/negligence lawyer's wet dream in the making...

No doubt, two police officers told me that as well. They said they were having trouble getting enough of their force on the interstate in time because he was going too fast for where they were.

Maybe so, but in this case, everything worked out the way it should have worked out. I won't press my luck.

And they are very wrong for doing this. The dispatcher should be disciplined. Hopefully this thread will draw attention to the incident and the person can recieve proper training.

Hey everybody! Look at this drunk driver getting pissed at people for doing the right thing.
Posted on 3/20/14 at 11:05 pm to Hillborn 22
I find it hard to believe that they said to speed and keep up with the guy, endangering his own life and many others. In this case, OP is just as guilty and dangerous as the drunk driver.
I've called in many drivers before, but never been told to pursue them.
Also is this a brag thread, or what's the point?

You do come off as a douche for bragging about this on here and you should work on not doing that in the future.
