frick. That.
I knew a few that did The Woodlands to Med Center. I commuted from Cypress to the Med Center for a couple years and that made me want to die.

Mont Belvieu has literally turned into a burb like Kingwood and the Woodlands where it is a commuter haven for those poor souls that have to make that drive into the H-town jungle. I bet very few exit into Baytown. If so that commute would be glorious.

you should see it on a Friday evening headed from Beaumont back to Houston.
nothing compares to I10 west out of Houston on Friday afternoon before opening day of deer season

that's true, but the issue with Baytown -> Beaumont is less the number of vehicles and more the construction + 18 wheelers. there are stretches through there that are straight up death gauntlets.

Not just deer season, it’s any weekday afternoon. It was recently rated the worst commute in Texas.

I guess I can't see why anyone would put up with that commute. I could get why Mont Belvieu would be a good option if you worked at ExxonMobil in Baytown because Baytown has seriously declined the last couple of decades but driving to Downtown H town or the medical district would kill my soul inside.
