Can I hijack for a second? We need to resod back yard in Dallas. It's a mixture of 30% St. Aug 70% weeds (previous owners sucked).

We want something very easy to maintain with minimal weeds and watering as North TX has droughts practically every summer. No kids .. Not much foot traffic. One old dog and once he's gone, no more animals. Any recommendations? A neighbor said Buffalo grass. Not so sure about that.

Dallas has more issues than south la. Drought, big time grub problem, army worms, chinch bugs, take all root rot. You aren’t really going to have a minimal effort grass there. If it’s 30% st aug just resod the rest with st aug.

Cool, thanks. I'm partial to xeriscaping the whole thing, but wife is against that idea.

Not a bad idea if you want lower maintenance. Grass in Dallas will die if it’s not cared for.
