I know this is a sad and dangerous situation, but it's really hard to hear their voices with that accent and sense anything other than no praaahblams, mon. Even in the worst scenario the affliction in dude's voice sounds more like he's chasing a chicken through an alley than getting hit by a cat 5 hurricane.
Which makes it even more sad that the people we think of as stress free and living the life have gone through so much of this recently.

I have a friend who is stranded in Puerto Rico for this storm with her boyfriend. They tried to find a flight out. I've been watching her FB updates.

Don't try to make him feel any more at ease about it or anything

Her, but if she can warn her friend then all the better.

She's trying to stay calm given the situation and the circumstances. She knows it's going to get bad.

I presume they're at a Beach resort type hotel righr on the water?
Better than it sounds as long as Maria stays east and keeps the big north winds off of San Juan. That would at least limit storm surge. Currently though, they're in line to catch the NE side of a Category 5 or strong 4 eyewall. Run if they can, find the strongest hotel they can if they can't run and ride it out.

Have a battle buddy down there right now and talked to him earlier and they were staying at some resort. Thought it looked weak so he and his group were heading to find a concrete structure or something strong to ride it out

That periscope looks pretty tame

That feed is from the island south of Dominica.

They were in an air b&b and now are staying with the owner of their air B&B in their personal home. I'm not sure of exact details just what I'm getting from her FB updates.

It would be on Martinique. Maybe a tropical storm force gusts.

Are they rich? The PR house owners?

Eye of Maria inside Dominica, not the other way around.
