To be clear I said this was another reason as in multiple.
These Marines should be punished and I fully expect them to be. But females serving alongside their male counterparts is just asking for trouble. Between battlefield rape, adultery within a unit, pregnancy, and now this, it's not too difficult to make the argument that perhaps there shouldn't be coed units.
That's aside from the entire study the corps did that proved that all men units outperformed their coed counterparts on almost every level, with fewer injuries and less time lost to medical leave.

If your business is killing other human beings, "any company in America" isn't a relevant comparison. That sweet 9 to 5 is exactly like giving your life-and-death trust to everyone within a rock-throwing distance of your own self, right?
What these kids did is very stupid, but unless you've been in that situation, you really ought to shut the frick up about comparing this to any other job.
Kick these kids out, or do what they'd do to those who commit other sexual transgressions and transfer their asses out. Then make sure that no women are anywhere close to a front line combat unit for a decade or more.
It was eminently foreseeable and entirely predictable, yet some sections of the country will get all up in arms when the part of the military that is specifically recruited for and selected against the most aggressive, most testosterone-fueled, most lethal killers that our society has to offer doesn't quite follow the rules of a F500 company or a university administration.

They cost more to train, cost more in health care costs and when you mix females with men it causes disciplinary problems.
I can ask you why women should be allowed in and the only answer you will be able to give me is because it's fair. That just simply doesn't cut it.
