I currently work in tv broadcasting as a news writer but I am open minded about a career change.

Still, there are many larger media markets out there in affordable cities which also have a larger general job market should you want to transition to a different industry. I'm guessing you want to stay in media / mass comm type jobs? If so you're looking at $40k or less in Nola.
