yep, but cutting edge as far as musicians that wrote, played, and sang their own music, McCartney was as good as anybody musician wise in the day though, as songwriting collaborators no one will top them, they all came from the wrong side of the tracks, so, yep, they were street smart

He wrote catchy pop tunes and is considered a musical great for his pop culture impact. No denying they were larger than life but he's by no means some genius musical force.

Meh...I'd say that happened in the 1950s.
Beatles started out as a boy band. They started doing more sophisticated music and lyrics later in their careers.

dude, you need to read some history, boy bands don't travel over several countries, lugging their own shite, paying their own way, playing 6-7-8-9- shows a night to hostile people who've never heard their music, and basically try to audition/win them over every show
