In all of my long-term relationships, whether or not I listened at the time, my parents were always right about my SO's. My mom was the vocal one and I typically ignored her, but finally figured it out for myself. I think you have every right to be honest with your son.

If he is living with the girlfriend, they are playing the "married" role already with exception of the ring and ceremony.
So dont pay for travel anymore...they want to be treated as adults...
Allowing them to Shack up on vacation / house on your dine is trashy situation.
Where are your standards?

I am 37 and own a home with my SO of 4 years. We still sleep separately when staying with our parents.
It's unspoken respect, I suppose.

It was for me, too. My former SO and I have been apart for a couple years now, but my mom always brought out the aero bed for him when we showed up.

Just curious, why do you single her out for this one when it sounds just as much your son's fault?

Because he hates her.

A doctor, 2 neuroscientists, 2 nurses, an engineer, and 3 college students...super trashy family get together obviously in a trailer, amiright!?
Considering the other facts that have you getting drunk with your children and getting made at your sons girlfriend when all she is doing is trying to keep him from being a drunk like his dad........then yes you are right.

I agree with swoopin. In very general terms advice him not to get married too soon. Create a stable environment first - finish school, stable job, etc. If he's going to nose his way into his son's situation, make it about creating a good start in adult life.
Personally I think he should stay out of it but my oldest is only 12 so I haven't walked a mile in his moccasins.
