Tell everyone you know that The Boat was buggered by the alligator guy.
If its the same guy that owned the alligator bar, its actually pretty likely. Pretty sure that guy putted from the ruff, not that there's anything wrong with it. Back in college before bars could open on sundays, we would hit up alligator bar for sunday evening buzz. there or JL's West in brusly.

The refusal to operate the structure as designed basically ruined the lake. For a long time, it was just a huge mess of invasive aquatic vegetation.

Helped you out Baw.
The lake drained when the Iberville Parish President had Ascension Parish open the lock (really a big culvert under Alligator Bayou Rd) and drain Alligator Bayou into Bayou Manchac.

Spanish Lake (French: Lac Espagnol) is located in the Bluff Swamp on the Iberville - Ascension Parish line. It is fed into by Alligator Bayou, Brand Bayou, Bayou Braud, and Bayou Paul.

Historically, it wasn't a lake year round as it was when the flood gate was permanently closed to create Bonifay's swamp tours. The lake periodically flooded during high water in the spring and was dry other times of the year. Another landowner who's property stayed flooded and was permitting a wetlands bank is who actually prompted the opening of the flood gate. Corps told Parish to open it and they complied.
