This is the OT. We just sell our faded boats and buy a new one.

I got this Glastron for Gaston after Katrina. I did the same steps as before. Also I got a beater trailer for the Glastron from a friend and restored it. I'm pretty damn good at bringing items back to life....cars, boats, houses, etc..

If they really buffed it, you didn't lose any clear. The clear has oxidized and you will have to wet sand it and polish to get it down to a layer that is not oxidized.


You have to keep it out of the sun or it will happen again. Get side covers for your boat cover that reach close to the water line

Forgot to mention after you wet sand the boat you'll think you ruined it. It comes back alive if you follow the steps correctly. Like glass. I also owned a maroon colored Monterey. I fought the same issues you do even though I babied her. It was the last non-white boat I'll ever own.
