How to get rid of water marks on tan headliner

My truck had a third brake light leak, got it fixed but can't get rid of the water marks on the tan headliner.
Even tried some foam interior cleaner stuff and a brush but it just seems to result in more marks.
Any ideas besides replacing the headliner?

Peanut butter
Rub it in thoroughly then rinse with distilled water

Rub some feces on the area and you won't notice the water mark ever again.

Yeah the stains are coming from the foam or cardboard above the headliner.
More cleaning methods that involve moisture won't fix it, just exacerbate it.
Get an upholstery shop to recover the headliner.
Or if it is a beater, enjoy the patina!

Steam carpet cleaner helped remove water marks for my couch so that may be an idea
