you just burn the shed down? That's what I'd do. Can't be too careful.

this is a dumb answer.

the only safe way is to move, after you burn everything to the ground

I didn't realize it, but yellow jackets make huge paper nests that look like hornets nests. There could be hundreds or thousands of yellow jackets in there.

I removed one from my dad's pontoon boat. It was up under a storage compartment. I took a couple of indoor foggers like the ones you'd use for fleas and such and tossing them in there like hand grenades. It killed enough of them to where I could finally take the nest down.

Yes the papers nests and also a wasp nest where when i knocked it down the larvae were coming out of the nests. It looked like these things were about to hatch. There was hundreds of them on the ground not counting the hundreds of yellow jackets swarming around. I cleaned the storage shed out yesterday after i thought i had got rid of them and didnt see any. Go in there this morning and there was another swarm that came out. Had to run for cover.

well tell her since she doesnt like your idea she can get off her arse and go get rid of them.

disclaimer: it might be better to get stung by yellow jackets than to actually say that

Had some inside the wall of my carport a few weeks ago. I sprayed the tar outta them w raid, and they didn't even die when I hit em. I called a friend of mine who works at a pest co and he confirmed that raid is not good for yellow jackets. He came and used some sort of aerosol spray that has a long nozzle like wd-40. Said when it sprays it vaporizes like a mist. Lemme tell ya, when he sprayed it in my wall it killed em ALL on contact. Only a few where even able to crawl out ta the cracks to fall on the floor. He said there's also a fine powder you can get and use that will kill on contact too.

Be careful, though. Them little suckers pack a heckuva punch when they sting.

will these foggers also kill the larvae in the nest?

Gasoline

Growing up on a farm, we used deisel. BEST WASP KILLER EVER!!! We'd take an empty oil quart, punch a hole in the lid, fill it w deisel and point and squeeze... Could get some good distance with the shot!!! Good times, good times!!!

I had our pest control person spray the nest. One of those frickers got me on the neck. The pest control person gave me some tobacco to put on it and it didn't swell much at all. Turns out tobacco is good for something other than my stock portfolio.

As long as it's an enclosed area, it should work. The foggers come in a three pack. Use them all. Even then, there will be some still alive in the nest. Bring a spray can when you take it out!

That "Billy the Exterminator" turns a shop vac on reverse and pumps a bunch of fine silica in the nest,in the wall whatever.

Not sure how it kills them but it sticks to them.Maybe it suffocates them.I'm not sure.

One stung me on the ankle the other day, and I think there is something in the venom that makes a grown man act like a little bitch... Man that sumbitch hurt.
