Next time, maybe help the clerk out with a prompt like “Can I have my change as (insert amount here) and (insert value of hard quarters here).” Or let her give you the change in the best way that she can and then ask her to break a couple of the bills into coinage.

And don’t be so quick to run home to post stories that actually put your character in a bad light on an internet chit-chat Board.
